Full Form of IIT is Indian Institute of Technology. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is the most advance, prestigious and recognized institute form engineering. This institution is governed by The Institute of Technology Act, 1961.
Each institute is an autonomous Institute of Technology which has its own council, rules, regulation and admission process. The Institute of Technology Act, 1961 recognize 19 IITs which is governed under this Act.

Duration of Course
B.Tech degree from IIT is a 4-year program with 2 semesters every year, while an integrated and dual program is a 5-year program with 2 semesters every year.
In the first-year course are same for both B. Tech and Dual course program students. From next year student study their specialized subject.
Eligibility and Admission process
The candidate must be passed 10+2 from any recognized board with at least 75% marks.
To get admission in IITs student must sit in joint entrance exam which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA)
